Finding A Private Driver

Join one of the numerous Costa Rica Expat groups on Facebook and ask for recommendations. Be forewarned, there are a lot of sarcastic, know-it-alls on these groups who will also respond. It’s best just to ignore their comments. Try Quora.com if you’re not on Facebook.

By identifying a driver with recommendations, you’re already verifying the credentials of the person. Respond only to people recommending drivers – not actual posts directly from drivers.

Remember, anyone can call themselves a private driver. It is not regulated in Costa Rica. The only thing you must go on is a recommendation from someone else. Good drivers have many people recommending them.
